Job Description:

As a Senior Technical Leader – PHP, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing high-quality, scalable PHP-based applications. You will lead a team of talented developers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the delivery of robust solutions that meet our business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of PHP, extensive experience in system design, and strong leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of PHP developers, providing technical guidance and support.
    • Set coding standards and best practices, ensuring high-quality code and performance.
    • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  2. Project Management:
    • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from requirement analysis to deployment and maintenance.
    • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and scope.
    • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  3. Architecture & Development:
    • Design and architect scalable, secure, and efficient PHP-based web applications.
    • Propose and design high level architecture solutions for big and small projects.
    • Develop and maintain PHP applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
    • Integrate third-party APIs and services, ensuring seamless functionality and user experience.
  4. Innovation & Improvement:
    • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, advocating for continuous improvement and innovation.
    • Identify and implement new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance development processes.
    • Conduct research and feasibility studies for new features and technologies.
  5. Collaboration & Communication:
    • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing.
    • Liaise with other technical leaders and departments to ensure alignment and integration of solutions.
    • Prepare and present technical documentation, reports, and presentations for various stakeholders.

Professional Experience:

  • Must have handled at least 2 large scale/enterprise level successful web development/software projects
  • Experience of developing and managing at least 2 projects from scratch to launch.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience in PHP development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Proficiency in PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.
  • In depth knowledge of Object Oriented Programming principles.
  • In depth knowledge of REST API standards and best practices.
  • Hands of experience in system design, database design, distributed systems/architecture.
  • Strong understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and libraries (Vue.js, React, Angular).
  • Experience with database design and management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and application performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools (JIRA, Trello, etc.).
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong personal GitHub portfolio.
