Job Description:
As a Senior Technical Leader – PHP, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing high-quality, scalable PHP-based applications. You will lead a team of talented developers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the delivery of robust solutions that meet our business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of PHP, extensive experience in system design, and strong leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of PHP developers, providing technical guidance and support.
- Set coding standards and best practices, ensuring high-quality code and performance.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Project Management:
- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from requirement analysis to deployment and maintenance.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and scope.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Architecture & Development:
- Design and architect scalable, secure, and efficient PHP-based web applications.
- Propose and design high level architecture solutions for big and small projects.
- Develop and maintain PHP applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services, ensuring seamless functionality and user experience.
- Innovation & Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, advocating for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Identify and implement new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance development processes.
- Conduct research and feasibility studies for new features and technologies.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing.
- Liaise with other technical leaders and departments to ensure alignment and integration of solutions.
- Prepare and present technical documentation, reports, and presentations for various stakeholders.
Professional Experience:
- Must have handled at least 2 large scale/enterprise level successful web development/software projects
- Experience of developing and managing at least 2 projects from scratch to launch.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience in PHP development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Proficiency in PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.
- In depth knowledge of Object Oriented Programming principles.
- In depth knowledge of REST API standards and best practices.
- Hands of experience in system design, database design, distributed systems/architecture.
- Strong understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and libraries (Vue.js, React, Angular).
- Experience with database design and management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
- Knowledge of security best practices and application performance optimization.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools (JIRA, Trello, etc.).
- Contributions to open-source projects or a strong personal GitHub portfolio.
